For those of you new to couponing, you're going to be seeing lots of terms and abbreviations online when referring to coupons. I have complied a list of coupon lingo to help you out. As time goes on, I will add to this list.
$1/1: This shows the value of the coupon and how many items it's for. This example means Save $1 on 1 item. If it said $.50/2 would mean Save $.50 on 2 items. $2/3 means Save $2 on 3 items, etc.
AC: After Coupon
BC: Before Coupons
BOGO, BOGOF, B1G1, B1G1F: Buy One Get One Free
CAT, Catalina: These print at the register when you check out- usually triggered by purchasing certain items, or a certain dollar amount. these can be used like cash towards your next purchase. If they say manufacture coupon, you should be able to use them anywhere.
CF: Cellfire.com loadable e-coupons
Coupon Policy: Each store has it's own rules about coupons- if they double, how many you can use, stacking restrictions, etc. Before you using coupons at a store check their policy to make sure you go by their rules to take full advantage of all your savings opportunities start nities and restrictions.
CPN: Coupon
Double Coupon: A coupon that can double it's value. Some stores will double the your coupon up to $1, or a similar idea. Check your store's coupon policy.
ECB: Extra Care Bucks- Prints out on your receipt at CVS to be used like cash towards your next purchase
Filler: Items you buy just to get up to a certain minimum amount to qualify for a sale or coupon
FS: Free Shipping
GC: Gift Card
GM: General Mills
HOT: A great deal only available for a short time- get it while it's hot!
MFR: Manufacture Coupon- can be accepted at any store that accepts coupons
MIR: Mail In Rebate
OOP: Out Of Pocket - How much you actually pay
OYNO: On Your Next Order
P&G: Proctor & Gable Coupon Insert from the Sunday newspaper
Peelie: Coupon that you peel off the package
Q: Coupon
RP: Red Plum Coupon Insert from the Sunday newspaper
RR: Register Rewards- Prints out with your receipt at Walgreens to be used like cash towards your next purchase
SC: Store Coupon- Can only be accepted at the store shown on the coupon
SS: Smart Source Coupon Insert from the Sunday newspaper
SP: Stockpile
Stacking: Combining a manufacture coupon "stacked" with a store coupon to maximiza savings
Triple Coupon: A coupon that can triple it's value
UPC: Universal Product Code- Bar Code
UPR: Up Rewards- Prints out with your receipt at Rite Aid to be used like cash towards your next purchase
V: Valassis Coupon Insert from the Sunday newspaper- Same as Red Plum Insert
WYB: When you buy
