Sierra's Sweet Savings: $109.80 Worth of Groceries for $16.66!

Sierra's Sweet Savings on Superbowl Sunday Shopping! (say that 5 times fast!) One trick to getting the best deals is the buy things when they are in season. I'm not just talking about produce.  What I mean is that if you buy things when they are most popularly sold, all the stores compete to give you the best deals. For example, the best time of year to buy chicken broth and stuffing mix is around Thanksgiving (or the day after!). The best time to buy snack size or kid size lunch foods is in September during back to school sales.  The best time to buy things like soda, chips, snacks, and other things like that is Superbowl Sunday! We like to have these snacks and things on hand for when guests come over. And we make our favorite pinwheels appetizer out of crescent rolls.

Vons Shopping Trip 2/6/11

I got 7 packages of crescent rolls for FREE!  They actually paid me $5.99 towards the rest of my groceries. The total for the cresent rolls alone would have been $20.93. I got a 12.99 discount for bringing in a rain check. Plus I brought in 7 coupons for save $.75 that doubled up to Save $1 on each.

I got the 12 packs of soda for $1 each (normally $4.98). I used a Vons coupon for get 4 packs for $8. Then I used 4 Save $.75 coupons which doubled up to $1 off.

I got 6 cans of soup for $.49 each (normally $2.49).  They were on sale for $.99 and I had a coupon for save $1 on 2.

I got Tostitos chips for $.44 each. They were on Sale for $1.44 and I had a coupon for save $.55 which doubled up to $1 off.

I got Cheeze-Its for $1.19. They were on sale for $1.69. I had a coupon for save $1 on 2.

I got Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal for $.77 (normally $3.99). They were on sale for $1.77. And I had 3 Save $1 coupons.

I got Kraft Shredded Cheese for $1.50. It was on sale for $2. I had a coupon for Save $1 on 2.

These sale prices end today. But I think the Tostitos chips were a Sunday only deal.

Why would anyone NOT use coupons?!
