On Saturday, March 19th, in more than 100 locations across the nation, the Red Cross will provide fast and easy classes to teach the basics of hands-only CPR, the treatment of shock and how to treat wounds. The classes will be shortened versions of Red Cross training courses, lasting approximately 45 minutes to one hour and offered multiple times during the day. Another free way people can help Japanese relief efforts is by saving on their prescriptions at their local pharmacy with a free coupon (it works at nearly every pharmacy nationwide and also can be used for pets). When the coupon produces savings, it also generates a $1 donation to aid Japan.
